Privacy
Afghan Guide and its app keep nothing that identifies you.
What we do not keep
- No account, name, phone number or email is ever needed.
- There are no cookies, advertising identifiers or trackers, and nothing is sent to advertisers.
- The app never asks for your location; the qibla compass reads only which way the phone points.
What we count
- Each day we count which page was opened, in which language, from which country and on what kind of device. No IP address and no identifier of any kind is stored.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts load times and browsers, without cookies.
Hoosh
- Your question, with the conversation so far, is sent to Claude, made by Anthropic, to answer it. Under its terms Anthropic does not use it to train its models.
- We keep the words of each question for a year, to see what people ask most and what the site is missing. We keep them with their language and whether they came from the site or the app, but without your address or anything else that could show who asked. Email addresses, phone and ID numbers and links are blanked out before a question is kept, so please don't write your name or other personal details in one.
- To apply the daily limit we also count today's questions under a one-way code. If you mark an answer wrong and write why, we keep what you write.
- The app uses Apple's App Attest to show it is the real app asking. Its key stays on your phone and carries nothing about you.
On your phone
- Your language, province, appearance, reminders and the last rates and figures are kept on your phone, so the app works without the internet. Deleting the app deletes them.
- Prayer reminders are worked out and set on the phone; none come from a server.
- Your Hoosh conversations are kept only on your phone. You can delete each one, and deleting the app deletes them all.
Reporting a mistake
- If you use the "Report a mistake" form, we keep what you write, and a way to reach you if you give one, to put the mistake right.
