The job
Job Purpose
The Finance Officer is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial activities of the company and ensuring that all financial transactions are properly authorized, recorded, documented, and reported in accordance with the clinic's financial policies, procedures, and applicable requirements in Afghanistan.
The Finance Officer will maintain accurate financial records, manage cash and bank transactions, prepare financial reports, process payments, support payroll activities, and ensure proper financial documentation for the company.
KEY RESPOSIBILITIES
- Maintain accurate records of all project income and expenditures.
- Manage petty cash and daily cash transactions and maintain proper supporting documents.
- Prepare and process payment vouchers, receipts, and other financial documents.
- Process authorized payments for project-related expenses, supplies, services, and other operational costs.
- Maintain and regularly update cash, bank, and financial records.
- Assist in preparing monthly payroll and verify attendance, advances, deductions, and other payroll information.
- Maintain records of payments made to workers, staff, and service providers.
- Prepare basic monthly financial reports on project expenditures and cash balances.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager and Administration regarding financial requirements and payments.
- Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of all financial documents and supporting records.
- Monitor project expenses and report any discrepancies or unusual financial transactions to the supervisor.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial and salary-related information.
- Perform other finance-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 years of relevant work experience, preferably with a Logistical compny, NGO, or private organization.
- Good knowledge of accounting and financial procedures.
- Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- High level of honesty, accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Fluency in Dari/Pashto; basic working knowledge of English is preferred.
