The job
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the planning and coordination of nutrition activities at provincial level.
- Assist in monitoring the implementation of nutrition activities and follow up on identified gaps.
- Collect, compile, review, and organize nutrition-related data and reports received from health facilities and field teams.
- Support the preparation and timely submission of routine nutrition reports.
- Review submitted nutrition data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy and follow up on discrepancies.
- Maintain proper records and documentation of nutrition activities, trainings, meetings, monitoring visits, and related correspondence.
- Assist in preparing monitoring tools, activity plans, presentations, and other nutrition-related documents.
- Support coordination with health facility staff, project teams, and relevant stakeholders on nutrition-related matters.
- Participate in field monitoring visits, assessments, supportive supervision, and other project activities as assigned.
- Follow up on action points from monitoring visits and coordination meetings.
- Assist in organizing nutrition trainings, workshops, and meetings.
- Ensure that all nutrition documents and reports are properly filed and readily available for review.
- Maintain confidentiality of program and beneficiary information.
- Comply with OCED policies, PSEA, safeguarding, Code of Conduct, and other relevant procedures.
- Perform any other duties related to nutrition activities as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health or MD.
- Minimum 3 year's work experience in related field.
- Previous experience in nutrition programs or health projects is preferred.
- The candidate must have successfully passed the required Exit Exam and provide a valid Exit Exam pass certificate/document.
- Strong leadership, planning, and program management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Afghanistan's health system, MoPH policies, and donor requirements.
- Experience in nutrition data collection, reporting, monitoring and documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Fluency in English and Dari/Pashto (written and spoken).
Note: - There is three months of probationary period for all staff, in case the employee fails to fulfill the requirements or completion of given tasks during this period OCED can end his/her contract immediately.
