Paying the bill and power cuts

Paying the bill

  • At a Breshna office or a bank that takes the bill
  • By mobile money: e& money (which was mHawala): dial *711#, choose bill payments, then electricity, and enter your Breshna account number; or M-Paisa (Roshan, *111#)
  • Online, in the five cities where Breshna's online service runs: Kabul, Herat, Mazar-i-Sharif, Jalalabad and Kandahar

A new connection

Bring the owner's tazkira and the property papers (a customary deed stamped by the local representative is accepted in unplanned areas); a tenant needs the owner's letter. There is one connection per property, and the meter is fitted within two days of paying. Breshna's customer care is 144.

When the power goes out

  1. Keep a charged phone and a light ready, especially in winter.
  2. Switch off large appliances so they are not damaged when power returns.
  3. Ask your local Breshna office about planned cuts in your area: there is no published national schedule.
