The job

1. Job Purpose

The Finance Officer is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial activities of the clinic and ensuring that all financial transactions are properly authorized, recorded, documented, and reported in accordance with the clinic's financial policies, procedures, and applicable requirements in Afghanistan.

The Finance Officer will maintain accurate financial records, manage cash and bank transactions, prepare financial reports, process payments, support payroll activities, and ensure proper financial documentation for the clinic's OPD operations.

KEY RESPOSIBILITIES

  • Maintain accurate records of all clinic income and expenditures.
  • Manage petty cash and daily cash transactions and maintain proper supporting documents.
  • Record and reconcile daily OPD income and ensure that all received income is properly documented.
  • Prepare payment vouchers, receipts, and other necessary financial documents.
  • Process authorized payments and ensure that all payments have proper supporting documentation and approval.
  • Maintain and regularly update cash, bank, and financial records.
  • Assist in preparing monthly payroll and verify attendance, advances, and deductions before payment.
  • Prepare basic monthly financial reports on income, expenditure, and cash balance.
  • Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of all financial documents.
  • Monitor expenses and inform the supervisor of any financial discrepancies or unusual transactions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial and salary-related information.
  • Perform other finance-related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1years of relevant work experience, preferably with a clinic, NGO, or private organization.
  • Good knowledge of accounting and financial procedures.
  • Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • High level of honesty, accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in Dari/Pashto; basic working knowledge of English is preferred
