The job

The selected candidate will operate, monitor, and maintain the concrete batching plant; ensure accurate proportioning of

materials; maintain consistent concrete quality; and support safe, efficient, and reliable production. The role includes

managing daily batching operations, implementing approved mix designs, monitoring material consumption, identifying

equipment faults, and maintaining accurate operating records. Applicants with Civil or Mechanical Engineering backgrounds

will receive priority, while highly experienced hands-on operators are also encouraged to apply.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor automatic or semi-automatic batching plant systems to ensure safe, consistent, and efficient

production.

  • Measure and batch cement, sand, aggregates, water, and admixtures accurately in accordance with approved concrete mix

designs.

  • Monitor mixing time, water-cement ratio, concrete consistency, and other approved production parameters.
  • Set and adjust equipment controls in line with authorized mix designs and production requirements.
  • Inspect mixers, conveyors, cement silos, weighing systems, sensors, control panels, and related equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, and operational problems, escalating major faults promptly.
  • Carry out routine inspections, thorough cleaning, and preventive maintenance in coordination with maintenance staff.
  • Check weighing accuracy, support equipment calibration, and report deviations immediately.
  • Work with quality-control staff to ensure concrete meets specifications and agreed quality requirements.
  • Monitor aggregate moisture and apply approved batching adjustments as directed.
  • Keep daily records of batch quantities, concrete output, material consumption, plant condition, and downtime.
  • Identify material waste, batching errors, and production inefficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate closely with production supervisors and factory teams to maintain timely concrete supply.
  • Follow workplace safety procedures and report equipment defects and quality concerns to management.
  • Perform other relevant operational and technical duties assigned by management.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline is highly preferred.
  • Technical diploma holders and candidates with extensive practical batching plant experience will also be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete technology, approved mix designs, cement, aggregates, and water-cement ratios.
  • Hands-on understanding of automatic or semi-automatic batching plants and computerized control systems.
  • Working knowledge of mixers, sensors, weighing equipment, control panels, and plant mechanical/electrical components.
  • Ability to identify operational faults, perform basic troubleshooting, and assist in routine calibration.
  • Basic understanding of concrete quality-control methods, batching accuracy, and production records.
  • Ability to calculate material consumption and use basic computer applications.
  • Strong technical judgment, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of practical experience operating concrete batching plants or comparable concrete production

equipment.

  • Demonstrated experience with automatic or semi-automatic batching plant operations.
  • Experience in reinforced/precast concrete manufacturing or construction-material production is highly preferred.
  • Experience in equipment troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and calibration is an advantage.
  • An engineering qualification combined with direct batching plant operating experience is a strong advantage.

Core Competencies

  • Accuracy and strong attention to mix proportions, concrete quality, and operating details.
  • Reliability, integrity, accountability, and professional discipline.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with production and maintenance teams.
  • Strong commitment to safe operations, preventive maintenance, and factory procedures.
  • Clear recordkeeping, reporting, and practical problem-solving skills.
