Visa rules sometimes change without notice. Before you buy a ticket, confirm with the country's embassy.

Applying for a visa
Where to apply
- Pakistan: online at the official portal visa.nadra.gov.pk, then as the embassy instructs.
- Iran: through the Iranian embassy or a consulate. Iran's e-visa system is at e_visa.mfa.ir.
- Uzbekistan: the official e-visa portal e-visa.gov.uz. Check there whether an Afghan passport qualifies.
- Türkiye, the UAE and others: through the country's embassy or its official visa centre. The UAE usually requires a sponsor inside the country.
What most applications ask for
- A passport valid for at least six months more
- Recent photos with a white background
- Your tazkira, and often a bank statement, an invitation or a hotel booking
Before you pay anyone
- Check the fee on the embassy's own website.
- No visa is "guaranteed" for a price. Agents who promise one are a common fraud.
- Never hand your original passport to someone who is not an embassy or an official visa centre.
